9,000 U.S. homes purchased using cash in Q2 2019


Cash was used to purchase 9,000 homes in the second quarter of 2019, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The census surveys provide current national and regional data on sales of new single-family houses.

Included are current-month estimates and revisions for previous months, for new houses sold and for sale at the national level and by Census region, and for average and median sales prices at the national level. It also includes details of the type of financing used to purchase homes.

The results help provide an overview of the nation’s current economic activity, and are used by manufacturers, insurance companies, and financial institutions to help ascertain supply and demand.
