State of Vermont issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.
WW Building Supply, a home improvement supply store, has recently been awarded a $250,000 loan through the Windham County Economic Development Program (WCEDP).
The loan will contribute to the construction of a new 14,700 square foot building at 551 VT Route 30 in Newfane, VT. WW Building Supply had outgrown their current facility and was seeking options to remain in Newfane rather than moving elsewhere. WW Building Supply will build the new facility adjacent to the existing property.
"After 50 years invested in our local community, we're excited to continue our story in Newfane, Vermont,” said WW Building Supply President Ed Druke. “Our new facility will improve many aspects of our operation and we will never lose our focus on strong relationships, solutions-oriented customer service, and quality products. The funding from WCEDP has been a great help in moving this project forward and we hope to be a valuable contributor to Windham County and southern Vermont for the next 50 years."
The new building will allow for expanded retail space, an expanded paint center, a showroom, and onsite product inventories. The company plans to hire and train five new employees over the next three years. The jobs created will vary in disciplines, including retail support, inside and outside sales, lumber yard support, kitchen and bath design, and management positions.
“We are happy to provide funding to WW Building Supply to expand their business operations,” said Joan Goldstein, Department of Economic Development Commissioner. “By creating this new facility, more people in Windham County can find gainful employment and WW Building Supply can continue to offer its wide array of products to southern and central Vermont, southern New Hampshire, and northwestern Massachusetts.”
